WCUSD#15 Parents, Families, Students, and Staff

I wanted to inform you of a school safety and security situation today at WJHS.

WCUSD #15 PRESS RELEASE

At 1:00 today a video was brought to our attention by a WJHS student. The video was dated in December 2017. The video recording alleged threats towards other WJHS students. The Williamsville Police were notified, and the student was removed from WCUSD #15. The Williamsville Police Department and the WCUSD#15 Administration is actively investigating the situation.

The student will not be in attendance at WJHS during the investigation.

Due to a student being involved in this manner, please understand we cannot discuss any specific details regarding this situation related to the student. Thank you for your understanding, and please know we will continue to swiftly address any issues we feel interfere with the potential safety or well-being of the students and staff at WCUSD#15.

With the climate we live in, we will continue to have heightened awareness to school safety and security for WCUSD#15. We will continue to act with the mindset erring on the side of caution when it comes to students’ and staffs’ safety.

Tip Reedy

WCUSD#15

We encourage students, parents, and community members to communicate information regarding school safety and threats to WCUSD #15 administrators. They can email, call the
school, or use the Quick Tip Line located on the WCUSD#15 Website.
Our job as a district is to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment. Our job as administrators is to protect all students. It is also our obligation to protect the privacy rights of
all students, which can be challenging at times, when social media is used to release information that is incorrect or false. Information may be requested from the school administration when
dealing with these sensitive situations. If warranted, please consider calling your child’s school.
With the climate we live in, we will continue to have heightened awareness to school safety and security for WCUSD#15. We will continue to act with the mindset erring on the side of caution
when it comes to students’ and staffs’ safety.
I truly believe building relationships and connections with students is key to school safety, school culture, and the school learning environment.
I am proud to serve you as the WCUSD#15 Superintendent and look forward to building a bridge with the learning community. Please let me know if you have any questions.
IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE A BULLET!
